The award winning Cycles Brooch is defined by a richly patterned surface of concentric rivets, glass Miyuki beads and a central line of 18ct gold detail.
Crafted in sterling silver, the circular form is covered with hundreds of individually set rivets arranged in repeating concentric circles. Each rivet holds a glass Miyuki bead, creating texture, rhythm and subtle shifts of light across the surface. A single central row of 18ct gold rivets runs through the piece, bringing warmth and contrast against the dark oxidised silver.
The design reflects recurring patterns, returning moments and the cycles that shape our lives over time. Repetition across the surface suggests continuity, while the gold centre line acts as a point of focus within constant movement.
This brooch was awarded Silver in Wire Innovation by the Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council, and led to Isabella Bedlington receiving the Freedom of the Worshipful Company of Gold and Silver Wyre Drawers.
