Jewellery Care
Each piece is crafted to be worn, lived with, and enjoyed. With the right care, your jewellery will continue to look beautiful and evolve naturally over time.
Below you’ll find care guidance based on your jewellery’s finish — polished, matte, oxidised, or white.

Keep your polished silver pieces bright and beautiful with a few simple care steps.

3. Pour in hot (not boiling) water.
4. Submerge jewellery
5. Wait 2–5 mins.
6. Rinse & dry with a soft cloth.
7. Buff with a silver cloth
IMPORTANT NOTE
This baking soda method is safe for silver and white silver jewellery not oxidised finishes..
White Silver Jewellery Care
Keep your white silver jewellery bright and beautiful with a few simple care steps.
STORAGE
Store your jewellery in a dry place—ideally in its original box with the anti-tarnish tab included. Airtight bags or anti-tarnish storage pouches help slow down tarnishing.
EVERYDAY CARE
Never use silver polish/cloth—it can dull the delicate white finish. Gently dust with a soft cloth or cotton bud. Remove jewellery when washing hands or showering. Wear white rings as occasion pieces— earrings and necklaces are okay for daily use as they are worn in low contact areas.
POLISHING
Any areas of your jewellery that have a high polish can be buffed with a silver cloth.
REMOVING TARNISH FROM WHITE AREAS— BAKING SODA METHOD
1. Line a non-metallic bowl with foil shiny-side-up.
2. Add 1–2 tbsp baking soda.
3. Pour in hot (not boiling) water.
4. Submerge jewellery
5. Wait 2–5 mins.
6. Rinse & dry with a soft cloth.
7. Buff with a silver cloth on polished areas only (back and edges of Orbis collection)
IMPORTANT NOTE
This baking soda method is safe for silver and white silver jewellery not oxidised finishes.
Oxidised Silver Jewellery Care
Oxidised jewellery has a rich, dark finish created through controlled patination. This surface is designed to evolve with wear, gradually softening over time — especially on areas that experience frequent contact such as rings. With a little care, it will age beautifully.
STORAGE
Store your jewellery in a dry place, ideally in its original box with the anti-tarnish tab included. Keeping pieces in airtight bags or anti-tarnish pouches can help slow down natural surface changes.
EVERYDAY CARE
Avoid silver polishing cloths, silver dips, or abrasive cleaners — these will remove the dark finish. Instead, gently rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry with a soft cloth. For textured areas, you can use a soft toothbrush, cotton bud, or tissue to lift build-up.
PROTECTING THE FINISH
Avoid contact with soaps, perfumes, lotions, and household chemicals. Try to minimise rubbing or friction to preserve the oxidised surface, particularly on rings and high-contact areas.
Note: Pieces from the Orbis Collection are less prone to visible wear in their oxidised areas due to their concave form, which naturally protects the darker finish.
RESTORATION
If your piece fades over time, a re-oxidisation service is available. Alternatively, you may choose to let the finish soften naturally, allowing the piece to develop a personalised, lived-in character.
Matte/Textured Silver Jewellery Care
Keep your white silver jewellery bright and beautiful with a few simple care steps.
STORAGE
Store your jewellery in a dry place—ideally in its original box with the anti-tarnish tab included. Airtight bags or anti-tarnish storage pouches help slow down tarnishing.
EVERYDAY CARE
Avoid silver polishing cloths, as the compound in the cloth can make matte or textured surfaces appear dull or grey.
Instead, gently wash with lukewarm water and a little mild soap. A soft toothbrush can be used to clean textured areas. If needed, you may use a very mild abrasive such as baking soda or pumice powder, but do so very gently. Contact me for advise if you are unsure.
